Working Through the Holidays

Every year for the past… well, every year in my career as a webcomicker I’ve taken my annual winter break. I take a week off from posting comics to enjoy the holiday season and spend time with my family and friends. I did it through most if not all the holiday seasons for the Oracle for Hire years, carried that tradition through Star Power’s run, and have done so through Snout’s original journey through The Legacy.

But I’m posting through Christmas week this week for the first time in… well, for the first time!

My reasoning is simple. Since Snout’s journey concluded I’ve taken regularly-scheduled week-long breaks between every 24-page story! I’ve had these breaks all year long, and adding an extra one for this holiday week on top of the upcoming break in updates after Written In Blood concludes didn’t feel right. So I’m keeping the comic updating uninterrupted until Written In Blood finishes! That’s not going to be difficult, as all this week’s pages are already finished! Next week’s, too!

The real challenge this week is getting the concluding pages of Written In Blood finished in time for my Patreon patrons, who have access to pages weeks in advance. I know they’d understand if I were to take this week off, but my Patreon patrons have been my steady lifeblood since the pandemic and I feel I owe them everything I have to give (without burning myself out). That, and I’m stubbornly proud about the reliability of my self-imposed update schedule.

A new page will post on Christmas Day, and all the days following until Written In Blood concludes. Then I’ll take my holiday break… which will just be my regularly-scheduled break but I’ll give it a fancy title this year to celebrate.
