I’ve been going on like a broken record about this, and today is the last day I’ll have to do it.
Today is the final day of the Kickstarter campaign to put DREAMER, the fourth and final book of Snout’s adventure, into print! The funding goal has already been met, but it’s your last opportunity to score the exclusive bundled book deals and commission me for custom art!
Has this campaign been stressful? Yes. Every crowdfunding campaign stresses me the hell out. Has this campaign been encouraging? Yes. Snout’s adventure was weird and different, but it succeeded on its own without the nostalgia of the Oracle for Hire years to support it. Am I ready to be done talking incessantly about it? Goodness, yes. Was talking about it constantly necessary to promote it? You bet.
And it will be nice to go back to blogging about something else in the coming weeks. Self-promotion is vital to independent artists but I don’t enjoy being a walking billboard. You folks seem to enjoy me most when I’m talking about things I enjoy or my love of the creative process. That, more than spamming you with notifications, has been the most effective “self-promotion” of my two-decade career. I’m looking forward to returning to that.
But, for now, and one more time for good measure…
