I’ve mentioned this in a previous blog, but as we get closer to the end of this storyline I feel it bears repeating:
The conclusion of this storyline will be the end of Snout’s time as the main character of The Legacy of Dominic Deegan. When his story concludes, the comic will be switching formats.
I’m doing this because I feel like my time with Snout has run its course. The comic has been from solely his perspective for four years and over six hundred(!) pages. That’s an impressive run for any character, and I don’t want that streak to turn into burnout. Not even the Oracle for Hire years of this comic were solely from Dominic’s perspective. So to give myself some variety and to shake things up a bit here, Snout’s story is coming to an end.
The Legacy of Dominic Deegan will switch to an anthology format, with shorter stories about different characters all over the world, further showing how the actions of Dominic and his students changed everything mostly for the better. This takes some of the pressure off Snout to be our sole perspective into these centuries-old changes, and it allows me to have things like dialogue bubbles again. Four years without them is long enough, I feel.
But before all that switching happens, I’ll be taking a break. When Snout’s final comic posts on Friday, October 20 I’ll be taking a tw0-week break to focus on writing scripts for the anthologies, catch up on outstanding commissions, and create a buffer of comics for here and material for my Patreon patrons. The new format will begin on Monday, November 6!
This is exciting for me. I love endings. I hope you’ll find the conclusion of Snout’s journey satisfying, because I’m looking forward to brand new adventures. I hope you’ll join me.
