Did I mention that I love October?
Did I mention that one of the reasons I love it is because it's so spooky? Turns out a good friend of mine, frequent
model for my amateur photography and long-time fan of the comic also likes to celebrate the spookiness of October, only she does it with burlesque numbers she's written and choreographed herself.
SlaughterHouse Sweethearts: Blood-Soaked Beginning is the debut performance of Boston's spookiest burlesque troupe. Not only am I behind this project one-hundred percent, I'll also be there to cheer my friend and her sweethearts on. If you're in the Boston area you should come check this out. If you're not in the Boston area, take a road trip for this one. You won't be disappointed.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.

Cripes. Is it really October already?
Normally when a month sneaks up on me like this I lament the seemingly fast passage of time, but October is my favorite month of the year so today I welcome it with open arms and an enthusiastic spirit.
There are so many wonderful things to love about October.
Halloween!
The continued presence of the autumn beers!
Halloween!
Pleasantly cooler weather (here in New England, anyway)!
Halloween!
Halloween costumes!
Halloween candy!
Did I mention Halloween?
I'll be at
ONI-CON again this year for my favorite holiday in my favorite month, so if you're in the area be sure to stop by and share in some Halloween spirit!
Did I mention I love Halloween?
That's all from me for now.
Rock on and have a nice weekend!

As I said regarding Bulgak's teaser flashback, this one will also be going into more detail, but if you want
a quick refresher on Karnak and the orcs, just follow the link.
I've been on a real movie and documentary kick lately, so in lieu of other things to talk about here's a quick list of them that I've watched lately, both old and new, that you fine folks might enjoy.
Black Dynamite
Carl Sagan's COSMOS
Ken Burns' JAZZ
Zombieland
The Atheism Tapes
Lord, Save Us From Your Followers
Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention: 1960's
The Most Dangerous Man in America
The Buddha
Beer Wars
Starman
The Pluto Files
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.

I realized that since Karnak's reappearance in this story he hasn't been eating anyone. The only time he hasn't been chomping down on demon flesh was his brief appearance in THE SHADOW OF SIEGFRIED, but even then I'm pretty sure he was thinking about it.
Yesterday I mentioned a short series I watched thanks to streaming Netflix on my Wii called The Atheism Tapes. Now I want to recommend a documentary that, despite its title, is its polar opposite in purpose and subject called Lord, Save Us From Your Followers. At first I thought it was going to be something along the lines of Religulous (which I disliked), but instead this documentary was made by a devout Christian who not only remains remarkably moderate in his examination of the role of religion in the "culture wars" here in the U.S., but who ultimately calls upon his fellow Christians to be more tolerant, compassionate and loving to everyone, no matter how different they may be. I don't subscribe to any religion myself but I believe calls for empathy and charity are wonderful regardless of their source.
There's not going to be too much empathy, charity and compassion during this current story, though. We'll probably see more of Karnak having gruesome snacks.
Mmm. Soul food.
That's all from me for now.

Just some quick little news tidbits for today.
- I added some new
photographs to my deviantArt gallery. More will be coming in the following weeks.
- A good friend of mine has started her own burlesque troupe and
I'll be enthusiastically attending their debut performance. If you're not in the Boston area, do yourself a favor and plan a road trip for this one.
- Thanks to instant Netflix on my Wii I've had the opportunity to watch a fascinating program called
The Atheism Tapes. Thoughtful stuff. Give it a look if you want to see if you can keep up with very intellectual conversations about God (or the lack thereof).
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.

Melodramatic, isn't it?
Bulgak and Grench
were indeed the ones who found Stonewater in Maltak and, like everyone who wears a black robe in a fantasy setting, Bulgak was the one lurking in the background.
Come to think of it there are probably going to be a lot of references to events that transpired during
The War In Hell. Good thing it's the latest volume of collected comics available in the
SEER'S CATALOG, eh? Am I a marketing genius or what?
The answer is no, I am not.
Anyway, this is the week I should have news regarding new t-shirts. I've been experimenting with incorporating my photography into the designs but it's required more tweaking and fixing on my part than I anticipated. I want to be totally happy with these and it's proving tricky, but fun to do.
That's all from me for now.

The scene in the last panel of today's comic was
touched upon briefly near the beginning of The March Across Maltak. As you can probably tell, things are going to go into much more detail now but I like providing these links. The comic's archive is big enough now that even I need these little reminders sometimes.
I picked up the conclusion to the
Hit Monkey mini-series yesterday and, it's official, I am now totally gay for Daniel Way. I've said before that the very idea of Hit Monkey should be dumbest thing in comics, but Way makes the character (yes, the monkey is a genuine
character!) so sympathetic and believable that one has no trouble agreeing that a monkey in a suit with nunchuks could beat the crap out of Bullseye. Thank you, Daniel Way, for your monkey goodness.
I'm holding my breath a little now at where
Justice League: Generation Lost is going. I love this series. I think it's amazing, but do they really have to tease the "Kingdom Come" future? Again? Don't get me wrong, "Kingdom Come" is a
great graphic novel and I highly recommend it, but leave it alone already! Magog would've thrived in the nineties. Guh.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on and geek out.

Originally I wanted to make the soul hunter's consumption of Bulgak's infernomancy whip thing to be a lot more splattery and horrid. I wanted it to look like a truly painful thing that signified a pain that cut deep into his very soul.
But, in the end, I got the chuckles at the thought of the soul hunter sucking it down like a piece of spaghetti. Maybe it's because I've been having leftover pasta for dinner over the last few nights. Maybe this is a case of life imitating art? Or at least art imitating dinner. Or maybe I just really like spaghetti.
However, I can neither confirm nor deny my belief in the
Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The site was down for many hours yesterday, so if you missed Monday's update be sure to check it out.
There are new Donation Wallpapers up for your perusal and approval. I've decided to stop doing them monthly and will most likely switch to a schedule more suited to whatever storyline is most current and/or popular with you fine folks.
I should have more news regarding new t-shirts later this week. I mentioned that I'm experimenting with some designs that incorporate my amateur photography, so we'll see if these new designs meet your general approval as well.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.

Unmasked and angry as hell!

That mask saw lots of use and I had lots of fun with it during The Shadow of Siegfried, but nothing stays the same around here for very long and it was time for a dramatic unmasking. Hellish slaughterfests look much better when teeth are bared and eyes are blazing, in my opinion. Not that I have much experience with infernal butchery outside of my pen and paper.
I should have a new Donation Wallpaper up by next week at some point.
I'm also working on a few experimental t-shirt designs that incorporate some of my amateur photography. More on that next week as well.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on and have a nice weekend!

New comics came out yesterday, and while there were plenty of good ones that came out there's only one I really want to talk about today.
Brian Clevinger has been a good pal of mine for a while now and he's a damn good writer. The second issue of
Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet came out yesterday I actually, literally rolled on the floor laughing my ass off. Fantastic dialogue, space adventure and intergalactic diners made me love this month's issue so much that I don't even want to talk about the other books I pulled off the shelves. If you're not reading this one, you're missing out on some high quality comic bookery.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on and geek out.
A hellish recap.

Karnak originally gave Siegfried those orders back at the end of
The Shadow of Siegfried. Looks like he finally found what he was looking for.
I've been listening to lots of death metal and black metal as inspiration for this story. Here are two prime examples of my personal "soundtrack from Hell." This is the really violent, brutal metal so it's not for everyone... but it does the trick for me.
Dimmu Borgir - "Gateways"
Behemoth - "At the Left Hand ov God"
I could've picked more songs, but Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir are the only "hellish" bands I listen to. They're two fitting choices, I believe, since I think the driving brutality of Behemoth's sound is definitive of Siegfried while the sweeping melodic sound of Dimmu Borgir is appropriate for Karnak.
I hope that
Nergal gets well soon and I want Shagrath's tentacle hat.
That's all from me for now.

He's baaaaaack.

It's been a while since we've seen this infernal knight, but I don't think he needs an introduction or links to past strips to remind you who he is.
Those of you who have expressed your desire to see him redeemed or saved will be sadly disappointed, I'm afraid. I love Siegfried in this role and I relish the opportunity to draw him in his stages of increasing power and hellish knighthood.
Those of you who want to see Siegfried kick a major amount of ass will hopefully enjoy this increasingly gory story.
Splat.

I know this is crummy filler for a Monday update, but the train ride from Washington DC to Boston was over eight hours long and, after the memorable maiden voyage of
INTERVENTION, this was all I had the strength to muster for filler... a photograph of the scenery racing by the window where I sat on the train for over eight hours.
Travel makes me bleary.
The comic resumes tomorrow.
That's all from me for now.
