Things are going to be a little more difficult for Dominic and the crew heading into Maltak. I wouldn't call this so much of a cliffhanger as a "foreboding ending." Mwa ha ha.
And that's it for 2008!
If you're reading this I'm on my way to visit my parents and spend time with my family for the holidays. Dominic Deegan will return on Monday, January 5th with its new update schedule of five days a week, Monday through Friday.
Thanks to each and every one of you for all your support this year. Here's hoping you all have a wonderful holiday and I hope to see you all come 2009.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on and happy holidays!
A final countdown of sorts.

Hey there, folks.
A couple of things to announce this week that are pretty significant in regards to the comic.
First of all, this is the last week of updates for the year. Sunday will be the last strip of 2008 before I take my annual break to visit my family for the holidays. Dominic Deegan will return on
Monday, January 5th with a few changes. I've been in touch with a couple of friends of mine concerning slight changes to the layout of the site and someone else handling my merchandise.
The first definite and most significant change you'll see in 2009 is that Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire will be going back to updating
five days a week. There will still be eight panels a day, Monday through Friday, but there won't be anything on Saturdays and no more full-color one-panel strips on Sundays.
I've decided to cut my update schedule for a number of reasons. Readership is always the lowest on the weekends. I have a number of conventions next year that are within one week of each other. This will give me time to work on other things for the site as well as other projects I've had my eye on but no time to do them. Some of you may be disappointed with this cut in updates, but I feel it is the best thing for the comic and I appreciate your continued patience and support in this matter.
Finally, the
SEER'S CATALOG is back online and the
THREE VOLUME HOLIDAY SPECIAL is on for its final week. Keep in mind that I cannot even remotely guarantee that your orders will arrive in time for the holidays, but I'll do my best to get them out in a timely manner.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.
There's... too many of them!

In case you're wondering why the
SEER'S CATALOG isn't online and/or working when you click the link in the menu bar, it's because I've temporarily taken it down. You've all shown me such wonderful support in buying copies of my books for the holidays that I've become a little overwhelmed. I've stopped taking orders for now in an attempt to get caught up and get all the book orders out so they'll arrive in time for the holidays.
At the very latest, the
SEER'S CATALOG will be back online by the weekend. I should be all caught up by then.
Again, thank you all so very much for your support. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
In other news, I'll be attending
ConnectiCon's Member Appreciation Day this Saturday from about 12pm-2pm. Directions and other important information can be found on the forums. This is a last-minute thing I've agreed to so stop on by to say "hi" if you're in the area. I'll probably be feeling chatty, as usual.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.
Humbled by your generosity once more.

I know times are tough and the world's economy is going to hell in a freaking handbasket, so with that in mind I must express my endless gratitude to all of you who are taking advantage of the
THREE VOLUME HOLIDAY SPECIAL I'm offering. Your generosity and support mean the world to me and I cannot thank you all enough.
And to those of you who don't see the
holiday special in your budget this year, I still love you and endlessly appreciate your loyalty and support. It means the world to me.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.
Built to resist, mother@#$%.

After six years of making a comic on the internet I finally broke down and decided to swear in it. I also happen to find the concept of foul-mouthed clergy very funny. Besides, if you've been reading the comic this long and have tolerated all the gore and other violence, I don't think one little swear word is going to change your opinion of me or the strip.
For those of you who like a soundtrack to comics, I urge you to listen to
"Built (To Resist)" by Grip Inc. when reading today's comic as well as yesterday's. Not only do I think it's a killer song, but it's very appropriate.
The real world is bleak enough these days as it is. My webcomic doesn't need to add to any of that, even if it seemed like I was going that way for a little while.
Now excuse me while I try my hand at being a real businessman again...
Ahem.
Don't forget that the
THREE VOLUME HOLIDAY SPECIAL is still going strong in the
SEER'S CATALOG. This is a limited-time offer so be sure to get your order in so it'll arrive in time for the holidays!
That's all from me for now.
Rock on, motherf@#$ers!

I certainly hope everyone had a lovely and gluttonous holiday weekend. I certainly did. My family stuffed a delicious tofurkey down my throat and my chocolate (tofu) cream pie was a rousing success. I'm still digesting it all. Mmm.
I made the nearly fatal mistake of going Black Friday shopping with my girlfriend and her mother the next day. It was executed with such military-like precision that it got me in the mood to make a holiday shopping announcement of my own... only without the precision and organization of my girlfriend and her mother.
You can now order all three volumes of Dominic Deegan from the
SEER'S CATALOG! You have the option of ordering all three separately or taking advantage of a
limited-time holiday bargain! It's the holidays and I'm feeling festive, so head on over to the store and see if the
Three Volume Holiday Special tickles your fancy! If not, then I'm sorry I tickled you. I know some people hate that.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on!
Happy Tofurkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderfully gluttonous holiday. I will be stuffing my face full of tofurkey and my home-made chocolate (tofu) cream pie. Mmm!
The comic will resume on Friday.
Take care and have a happy holiday!
In which I whore out myself and my friends.

Just a heads-up that there won't be a comic up on Thursday, which is Thanksgiving day for those of us in the U.S. We'll all be busy stuffing our faces and thanking whatever god we pray to that we can still stuff our faces. I will be gorging myself on a tofurkey. Don't knock it until you try it.
ECSTASY & EVIL will be back in stock just after Thanksgiving. I'd been telling folks at conventions that I expected the shipment to come earlier, but there were some miscommunications with the printer and the major holiday does tend to screw with regular shipping. I'll be updating the
SEER'S CATALOG next week along with a special holiday deal for buying all three books at once.
Speaking of updates, the
LINKS page has been updated with a couple of new webcomic links as well as another fan forum! They all get my stamp of approval (whatever weight that may carry) so be sure to go check 'em out! I must admit that I found the "Boom De Ah Dah" strip slay particularly endearing.
I also find it worth mentioning that my buddy Garth Graham has launched a new webcomic called
Finder's Keepers. I've had the pleasure of seeing this project develop from its black-and-white infancy to the full-color beauty it is now. This promises to be a great urban fantasy tale and I can't wait to see where he goes with it.
Also worth mentioning is
Absinthe Junk, a band that just happens to feature my dear friend Juno. She's a multi-talented lady with a killer ear for good music and her band's original music is just as unique as she is. Do yourself a favor and give Absinthe Junk a listen.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.
Delayed blast webcomic!

Sorry for the delayed update, folks. The internet was down at my apartment all night and it only just came back up. Many thanks for your patience, as always.
Seeing "the gray" like Dominic.

The reason there's a gray tone to all the panels in today's strip is because I scanned this in on my father's computer and the settings for his scanner were all but alien to me. I'm visiting my parents for an afternoon and will scan today's comic again once I'm back at Mookie Headquarters later today, where I will make it look all "proper."
That's all from me for now.
Rock on.
I don't FEEL tardy...

November's absurdly late Donation Wallpapers are up for your approval and, with luck, enjoyment. My apologies yet again for them being so late this month. As I said before, I have no good excuse for the delay.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled splatter.
Rock on.

What's the time? Pict-chah-time!
Ahem.
I'm still getting the hang of my fancy new camera and these pictures are but a sampling of what I've been able to do with it so far. The following photos are from NEKOCON, my cats lounging around my apartment, and this past weekend's anti-Proposition 8 rally in Boston. I took a crap-load of pictures and not all of them came out terribly well, but these small few are the ones I feel comfortable showing off, even if they aren't all that wonderful.

I love this poster. Period.
Portrait of a supporter.
I'll be posting more photos as I get better with my fancy new camera. That is, if you folks are interested in that sort of thing.
November's absurdly late
Donation Wallpapers should be up tomorrow or Wednesday. I really have no (good) excuse for this ridiculous delay.
That should be all from me for now.
Rock on.
It's one of the seven deadly sins.

I want to say that I have a perfectly good reason for not putting up November's
Donation Wallpapers this week, or for showing off pictures from
NEKOCON or for not doing any of the things I said I was going to do this week. I want to say that there were some extraordinary circumstances keeping me from doing so...
...but the truth of the matter is that, aside from updating the comic, I just had a lazy week. Blah.
I will definitely have news on the restocking of
ECSTASY & EVIL next week, along with all the stuff I said I was going to do this week. I'm a bad Mookie.
Oh, and if you're of a particularly political frame-of-mind I may be attending this weekend's protest of the passing of Proposition 8 in California, which will be one of many across the country. Since I live in the Boston area, you can guess which one I may be at. Come on out if you feel as strongly about this issue as I do.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on... blah.
Made it.

NEKOCON was a blast but it left me absolutely exhausted. I was, however, able to get today's strip done so there wouldn't be any crummy Monday-after-the-con filler. With the exception of Thanksgiving there aren't any other planned interruptions for the remainder of the year.
As I said, I'm beat. I'll have a convention report up either tomorrow or Wednesday, complete with pictures (taken with my fancy new camera). I'll also have updates concerning the restocking of
ECSTASY & EVIL, November's
Donation Wallpapers and some changes to the strip come 2009.
But that's all for later.
Right now I'm going to recover from my last convention of the year while you folks hopefully enjoy some more splatter.
Rock on.
Last but certainly not least.

If you're reading this I'm off to
NEKOCON for the weekend. It's my last convention of 2008 and I hope to close out the year with a bang, so be sure to stop by and say "hi" if you're in the area. I'll be hanging out with the usual peanut gallery and maybe you can help us cause some more mischief.
While I'm gone the strip will update much like today's comic, as a one-panel strip. I did three of them to cover my absence and with any luck you fine folks will find them satisfactory while I'm gone. Sunday's will be particularly eye-opening.
That's all from me for now.
Rock on, and I'll see you at
NEKOCON!
